Believe it or not…Yes, we are scooting outside on December 31st in the heart of the state of Iowa! It was a gorgeous day for the boys to try their new scooters and they had a ball outside. Here’s to a new year, many thanks to you all for your support this year and I will be continuing my journey in my Snap 52!! Please come and join us

Phillip was let off work early today, so we went to the Coralville mall because it was family night. The carousel and the Children’s Museum are free after 5pm so we took advantage of that. It was fun watching the kids on the ride. The twins did not want to get off, and yes it was a scene leaving…(shaking my head). PT wanted to of course get on the dragon, (I snapped a photo of it awhile ago when we first went to the mall because I loved the colors) and I was flustered because I needed a better lens and had to deal with some low light and moving kids …hmmm maybe, just maybe I might have to splurge with my Christmas cash because as most of you know I am taking on the Snap52 project (I encourage you to join us and learn more about your camera) in 2012 and I need some new inspiration. What better way than with some new toys

The little guys wrestling, well…more like hugging and laughing uncontrollably, but they think it’s wrestling. Felt like an old school photo to me, so I antiqued it and gave it an old looking texture with a vintage frame. I really do like how it came out.

I have to say that seeing my own pictures on 12×18 canvas felt really special. I know I am not a professional photographer, and I can’t hold a candle to them, but these really mean something special to me because I took them.

A special ‘Thank you’ to Momtographers #s 1 and 2, Krista Njapa & Adrienne Gray. Your advice, compliments, criticism drove me more than you know. Also, to Lindsay Stoesz Penner, whose pictures I saw years ago which inspired me to try and capture my children as she does hers. It’s impossible to do because she is a magician and her pictures are one of a kind.

And thanks to all of you who pushed me…I feel so accomplished seeing my photos on canvas and framed, I can’t wait to order more ♥

Another ornament picture…and the same one from a few days back, sorry. I am just having so much fun with my tri-pod. I had to redeem the picture of my favorite ornament. Look at the Bokeh on this one man!! Getting better at it

Ok…so this is a picture playing with my new toy the day after Christmas. Got an awesome tri-pod from my honey! This is a 3 second exposure in a dark living room no flash!!!! Yeah boy, just look at that crispness…love the new tri-pod This is also straight out of the camera, no edit….Going to have fun with this!!

Eni’s 1st Christmas. Of all the kids she has been the oldest at their 1st Christmas, PT was only 9 days old, and the twinds were only a month and a hals and they were still in the NICU. It was fun to see her excited with each little stuffed animal, and of course every single piece of paper went into her mouth. She was so spent after an hour of all the hub-bub, but she loved every minute of it ♥

Again, not the best picture here…trying to stay away from my flash when possible, so not very sharp and focused as I’d like, but I had to get a photo of this gem. This is probably one of my favorite ornaments…we got it long before we had children and up until this past year since we had Eni we had thought it foretold our family size LOL! I guess we need to see if we can get a glass maker to add a little snowbaby somewhere

Not a very good picture, just practicing trying to get that “Bokeh” with my puny little lenses. Bokeh are those beautiful little orbs of light you see in the background. For some reason I was getting better bokeh with my aperture higher than when it was lower…I was puzzled because I thought it would be better at a lower aperture…any thoughts or advice?
